Distress

I'm white, educated, appreciated, respected. Empowered in many ways. It should not have affected me.

It destroyed me for a few hours.

This aggressive, mundane lady will be stuck in my head likely forever now. Whether her car could go first or not is irrelevant. The few words we exchanged have no interest whatsoever…although, it was not an exchange, she was vociferous, I could barely say a thing.

Until : 'Go back where you are from'.
I laughed. It was a quick way to cover my incredulity, distress, pain.

I'm still in shock.
